I often feel that within the making of a painting,
many artworks appear in passing:
ephemeral, transient in nature.
A spontaneous brushstroke, a first mark,
or a chance meeting of colors
can create small, unexpected compositions.
Some of these moments disappear quickly,
covered by the next layer of paint.
Others stay hidden in a corner, small, almost invisible,
yet they hold the rhythm of the final piece.
These brief passages add balance, depth, and movement,
but their individuality fades as the painting evolves.
In this series, I give them space and permanence,
their own life and presence.
Photographed as they surface,
printed as singular works,
each image preserves a brief instant of becoming,
later enriched by gentle interventions
with pastels and oil pastels.
